2. | What do the Injury designations of I, O, D, Q, P and S mean? Answer: These are the official five NFL injury codes and they correspond to the following:
I = Injured Reserve. A player with this designation is on the official NFL IR list, or the IR Designated to Return (IR-R) List, the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) List, or the Non-Football Injury (NFI) List.
O = Out (0% chance the player will play in the upcoming week's game)
D = Doubtful (25% chance the player will play in the upcoming week's game)
Q = Questionable (50% chance the player will play in the upcoming week's game)
P = Probable (75% chance the player will play in the upcoming week's game). NOTE: the NFL eliminated the Probable designation at the start of the 2016 season, so it is no longer used on the injury report.
S = Suspended. This option can be enabled on the Injured Reserve Setup screen to allow Suspended players to be deactivated to the IR (this also includes players on the Commissioner Exempt List).
H = Holdout. This option can be enabled to allow a player be deactivated to IR when he's away from the team due to a contract dispute. For the 2020 season, this also includes players that Opt Out of the season because of COVID.

5. | Why can I not deactivate an eligible IR player after their game has kicked off?
Answer: If you have an eligible IR player on your roster then depending on his lineup status you may not be able to deactivate the player. The players are locked into the lineup based on your lineup deadline as set on the Setup > Starting Lineup Setup. If you have Early or Kickoff then players are locked into the lineup at that time. If you have Gametime then the following applies:
If the players game has kicked off and he is in your starting lineup you cannot deactivate him.
If the players game has kicked off and he is a non-starter you can deactivate him to IR.
Additionally, If on the Setup > General Add/Drop Setup you have
Prevent Owners From Making ANY Roster Moves After Kickoff Of That Player's Game Until The End Of The Week? No
Then you can deactivate a non-starter or activate a player on IR at any time, regardless if their game had kicked off.

8. | We have roster limits for our teams, if we place a player on IR does that free up a spot to acquire another player to fill that position, or will the roster maximum still be met? Answer: Fantasy injured reserve spots are not counted against your roster position limits or franchise roster size. When you re-activate a player from the fantasy IR, however, you may need to drop a player from your active roster to free up the position.

9. | Owners cannot perform IR moves because of roster position limits - how can I fix this? Answer: This occurs when you have Roster Position Limits too strictly defined. The system enforces roster position limits at all times, so, for example, if you require two QBs on your roster, and you currently have two, and you try to deactivate one of those QBs to IR, the system will prevent you from doing that because it is enforcing your roster position limits.
To correct this problem, you will need to either reduce or remove your Roster Position Minimum values on the For Commissioner > Setup > Roster Position Limits Setup in order to allow players to be deactivated to injured reserve (or demoted to taxi squad).

10. | How can I prevent owners from making IR moves once the players games have started? Answer: On the Setup > General Add/Drop Setup screen you will choose the option: "Prevent Owners From Making ANY Roster Moves After Kickoff Of That Player's Game Until The End Of The Week?"
These players will remain at their current roster status and will then available exactly 4 hours after kickoff of the last game of the week. So if the final game is on Monday @ 8:30pm ET, they can then be moved Tue @ 12:30am ET.

12. | How are PUP and IR and IR-R and NFI players listed on MFL? Answer: Players on the NFL IR List and the NFL IR-R List (IR Designated to Return), and the PUP List (Physically Unable to Perform) and the NFI List (Non Football Injury) are listed as IR on MFL. Owners can move these players to the Fantasy IR if your league allows this on the Setup > Other Transaction Settings > Injured Reserve Setup screen.
Note that there are two different PUP and NFI lists. There is an "Active PUP" and an "Active NFI" list, which are used during the preseason for players that are on PUP or NFI but can be activated at anytime. Players on the Active PUP or Active NFI list will be listed as OUT in our system because they are effectively OUT and can return to action at anytime. They are not required to be deactived by the NFL teams for 8+ weeks. Only the "Official" PUP and NFI lists, which are sometimes referred to as "Reserve PUP" and "Reserve NFI", will be shown as IR-PUP and IR-NFI on our system, because they are effectively the same as IR. Players on those lists cannot be activated again for at least 8 weeks.

16. | How do I use the Injured Reserve Setup page? Answer: Use this setup screen to define parameters for your injured reserve transactions. Note that these items will only appear if they have been enabled on the General League Setup
screen.
Player Can Only Be Deactivated When - This option is based on the injury information that is updated daily from Rotowire.com.
- Players may not be put on IR based on their injury status
- IR
- IR or Out.
- IR or Out or Doubtful.
- IR or Out or Doubtful or Questionable
- IR or Out or Doubtful or Questionable or Probable
- No requirements - all players may be put on IR
Choose the last option if a player can be placed on the fantasy IR at any time. The other options will require that the player meets the official NFL IR before a franchise may place the player on the corresponding fantasy IR.
NOTE: This does not include players on the NFL's Reserve/COVID-19 list. If you wish to put those players on your Fantasy Injured Reserve, use the setting further below on this page.
Can a player be deactivated when he is listed as "Suspended"? - Use this option to allow a player marked as "Suspended" to be on IR.
Can a player be put on IR when he's away from the team due to a contract dispute or holdout - Use this option to allow a player marked as "Holdout" to be on IR.
NOTE: For 2020, this includes players that have opted out of playing due to COVID-19 concerns. These players are identified with an injury status of "H"

In case of an IR violation, prevent owner from submitting lineup? - Use this option to prevent an owner from submitting a lineup if they are currently violating the IR requirements. Note this will not remove any existing lineup that is entered prior to IR status changes, or any lineup copied automatically from the previous week. It will only prevent an owner when in violation from submitting a lineup until the roster violation is corrected.
Once put on IR, the player must not be activated for: - When using this option an owner cannot activate a player for xx days" field to require IR players to remain on the IR for a specific period of time, regardless of any improvement to his injury status.
NOTE: When using the limit to keep a player deactivated you cannot use the option to prevent owners from submitting a lineup as these two features work independently. If a players status is upgraded, the option to require the player to remain inactive would contradict this restriction.
NOTE: The commissioner can always perform IR moves for any franchise regardless of the setting above. If a player has been placed on the fantasy IR and then his injury status is later upgraded causing a violation of league rules, the system will display a warning message on the Rosters report an include a warning on the injury status email that gets sent out each Wednesday and Friday evenings. The site will NOT automatically enforce any league-specific rules pertaining to any fantasy IR violation.
When finished, you MUST click on the Save Injured Reserve Setup button in order to apply your changes.
