1. | I want to re-sequence my franchises, assigning them different franchise numbers - what's the best way to do that? Answer: In general, we strongly suggest that you do NOT try to re-sequence your franchises, as that not only takes a lot of time to do and can cause a lot of problems with your league if it's done incorrectly, the vast majority of the time it's not necessary. The franchise number is just an identifier, it has no function on the site other than to uniquely identify one franchise from the next. Additionally, if you re-sequence the teams by editing the names/emails the MFL Accounts are still linked to their original Franchise ID. You would need to unlink all of the teams and these owners would then have to re-link their account to their new team. Therefore this process is NOT recommended!
Some of the more common reasons for re-sequencing franchises are:
1 ) You'd like league reports to appear in a specific order - like, you'd like the rosters report to display first franchise #10, and then franchise #2, and so on. To achieve that, simply use the For Commissioners > Setup > Custom Franchise Order Setup page, and indicate your custom franchise order there, and most league reports will be re-ordered by this new custom franchise order.
2 ) You'd like your league schedule to be arranged based on your "franchise numbers". To do that, you can use the For Commissioners > Setup > Fantasy Schedule Setup > Rearrange Franchises In Fantasy Schedule page, and change the franchises in your fantasy schedule that way. Note that if you wish to keep the same divisional games/format of your package be sure to only switch teams within that division.
3 ) You'd like to set up a different draft order than last year. To do that, just use the Draft Order Setup - All Rounds" screen, or you can use the "Draft Order Setup - One Round" screen if you are trying to customize the order for each individual round.

2. | How do I unlink a team from an MFL Account? Answer: The commissioner of a league can unlink a franchise on the For Commissioner > Setup > Remove Owner from League. On this screen, the commissioner can select the MFL User Account and Franchise that you wish to remove.
NOTE: This step is required when replacing an owner if you did not use the "Replace Franchise Owner" feature. It will remove that owner's email address and change the password, as well as unlink their MFL Account from the league.
An owner can unlink their team from their MFL Account by going to the For Owners > Franchise Setup. There is an "Unlink Franchise" option at the top. Click on that option, and then confirm it with a "Yes" on the pulldown menu and then click on "Unlink from Franchise" button.
NOTE: it can sometimes take up to 24 hours to update the "My Leagues" pull down menu, so the unlinked leagues may still show up there for a short period of time after unlinking.

3. | How do I replace a franchise with a new owner? Answer: There are 2 ways to replace an owner. Make sure you read both options before performing the steps to ensure you choose the correct method for your league.
For after the season started (or in dynasty leagues)
1. If you want to keep the existing franchise information, such as the roster, and you are just changing ownership of the team, then start by using this screen:
For Commissioner > Setup > Remove an Owner. This will un-link an existing MyFantasyLeague user account from the specified franchise.
Next, go to the For Owners > Franchise Setup - Basic to enter the new owner's Name and Email address. Here you can also edit the wireless number and additional contact information as needed and clear any customization the previous owner had.
Finally, go to the For Owners > Change Franchise Access Code and assign a temporary code for the new owner to link their account to the team (and to lock out the previous owner). Once complete, go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Invite Franchise Owners to send a new invite for the team. The new owner will then be able to log into their MFL Account (or create one) and link their Account to their team.
At the Start of the Season
2. To completely replace a franchise with a new owner you can go to the Replace/Reset Franchises.
Here you can check the corresponding franchise in which you wish to overwrite and enter the new franchise owners Name and email address. This will overwrite ALL of the previous owners information, including rosters, starting lineups, and all franchise setup information.
Note: This action cannot be reversed and therefore can only be used at the start of the season.
After replacing an owner be sure to re-save the For Commissioner > Setup > Divisions/Conference Setup

4. | I set up too many franchises, how do I remove the extra teams I don't need for my league? Answer: If on the Setup > General League Setup you set more franchises for your league then needed you will need to delete the unused franchises.
NOTE: This is a one-way, unrecoverable (even we cannot restore it for you) operation so PLEASE BE CAREFUL to delete the correct franchise.
Go to the Setup > Delete a Franchise screen, select the franchise from the list, check the disclaimer box and click on the NOW! button. THERE WILL BE NO OTHER WARNINGS. The franchise will be immediately removed, and may not, under any circumstances, be restored after it has been deleted.
Once this is done be sure to resave your Setup > Division and Conference Setup to apply the franchise changes to your divisions. It will then be necessary to save a new schedule and draft order if applicable.

5. | How do I delete a franchise? (Or, how do I remove an old franchise who is no longer participating in my league, and add in his replacement?) Answer: Before deleting a franchise determine if this is what you need to do. If you actually want to replace one or more teams in your league (that is, you still want to keep the same overall number of teams, and not reduce the number of franchises in your league by one), then use the Replace/Reset Franchises option to overwrite all of the old franchise information with the new franchise information.
On the other hand, assuming you still want to delete a franchise and reduce the overall number of franchises in your league by one, please understand that this is a one-way, unrecoverable (even we cannot restore it for you) operation so PLEASE BE CAREFUL to delete the correct franchise.
Note that you cannot delete a franchise in a prior season league. This screen is only available for current-year leagues. Therefore, if you need to remove one or more franchises from season to season, you must first upgrade your league to the current season and then delete the franchise(s).
In addition, you may not delete a franchise more than two weeks into the season. But, if it's more than two weeks into your fantasy season, and you really feel you need to delete a franchise, you may use this work-around to temporarily fool the system into thinking that it's within two weeks of the start of the season:
- Go to the General Scoring Setup page and temporarily set the start week for your league to be a week within the last two weeks. For example, if it's currently week 6 of the 2021 NFL season, change the start week on that page to week 5 or 6.
- Delete the franchises that you wish to delete.
- Go back to the General Scoring Setup page and reset the start week for your league to be the correct week.
NOTE: You cannot delete a franchise that has traded future draft picks in a league. In order to be able to delete the franchise you will first need to go to the Reports > League > Future Draft Picks and undo any picks that are traded to/from the team you wish to remove. This is done by checking the corresponding box next to the involved teams trade. Once you have removed all traded picks with the franchise you may then delete them from the league.
This option can NOT be undone. If you accidentally delete a wrong traded pick you will need to go to the For Owners > Trades and re-trade the picks between the two teams.

6. | How do I add a new Franchise? Answer: First increase the total number of franchises in your league, by going to the For Commissioner > Setup > General League Setup screen and increasing your "Number of Franchises".
Next go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Franchise Setup and add the new franchises Name and email address.
Finally, go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Invite Franchise Owners and check this owners box to send an invite to the league via email. This will send them a link to log into MyFantasyLeague.com and once logged into MFL they can select their franchise.
Note that owners will need to create an account on MyFantasyLeague.com in order to access the league. They can register for an account here. Once they are registered they can click the link provided in your invite email to automatically link them to their franchise in your league.

7. | How do I Add a Co-Commissioner or a Co-Owner? Answer: To add another commissioner to your league go to the For Commissioner > Setup > General League Setup. Here you can enter the second commissioners email address (separated by a comma) and then save your league settings.
Next you will need to grant the owner commissioner access on the For Commissioner > Setup > Grant Commissioner Access. Here you check the corresponding box of an owner to allow them commissioner access to the league.
Note the owner must first have accepted the invitation and be logged into the league using their MFL Account to be granted commissioner access.
If you are wishing to have a co-owner for your franchise, this can be done by going to the For Owners > Franchise Setup screen. Here you can enter the second owners email address (separated by a comma), and then save the Setup page. Also, you can add a second mobile number to allow them to receive text messages as well.
The co-owner will also need an MFL Account or can register here. Once they log into this account they can click on the Link Franchise to select the Franchise and enter the Franchise Access Code that is defined on the For Owners > Change Franchise Access Code. Alternately they can request that a link be sent to their email and a direct link will be provided to connect their MFL Account to the team.

8. | How do we prevent our commissioner from seeing waivers or trades prior to them being processed? Answer: The commissioner can enable the "Commissioner Lockout" feature in the Abilities Setup screen. This will still allow the commissioner to perform all commissioner necessary functions, but all owner related functions will need to be accessed while logged in as an owner. For the waivers, the commissioner will still be able to process waivers (if desired) after the deadline, but no waivers can be viewed prior to the deadline. They can also approve trades once the trade has been accepted by both parties.
Owners can view the status of the Commissioner Lockout in the Reports > Rules >League Settings. Additionally, and email is automatically generated to all owners when this status is changed.

9. | We upgraded our league and rearranged franchises, now all the owners are linked to the wrong team? How do we correct this?
Answer: To start, you will never want to use the For Owners > Franchise Setup to simply change the owners information when upgrading as each owner is linked to a specific account. See this FAQ for more details.
The following are the options to correct this:
1. Go to the For Owners > Franchise Setup and put the original owners back to their correct teams. The owners are automatically linked from last season so they will be able to easily re-access their original team once you reset their information.
2. Re-upgrade your league. To do this, go to the Setup > Schedule this league to be Removed and that will delete the league. The option to re-upgrade will appear on the 2020 home page for you to perform.
3. Manually unlink all teams on the For Commissioner > Setup > Remove Owner from League. You will need to do this for each team. Then you will need to re-invite the owners.

10. | How do I Change the Commissioner for our league? Answer: Once your league has been upgraded to a new 2021 league, have the current commissioner grant the new commissioner access on the For Commissioner > Setup > Grant Commissioner Access by selecting their franchise.
Next, update the commissioner email address on the For Commissioners > Setup > General League Setup screen.
Finally, have the new commissioner log into the league and in the upper right hand corner of the home page click the "Become Commissioner" link. They can remove the previous owners commissioner access by unchecking the option on the For Commissioner > Setup > Grant Commissioner Access page.
Note that the new commissioner will first need to register with an MFL Account. They will then need to link their MFL Account to their franchise before being granted commissioner access.

11. | My MFL Account is linked to the wrong franchise. How do I link my account to the correct team?
Answer: To start you will need to unlink your MFL Account from the franchise. To do this log in as the owner, not commissioner, and go to the For Owners > Franchise Setup. Here you can press "Remove User" to unlink your MFL Account from that team and then confirm that you wish to unlink your account.
Once unlinked the option will re-appear in the upper right hand corner to "Link Franchise". Go to the LOGIN > Link a Franchise and select your franchise from the drop down list and enter your franchise password.

12. | How do I allow (or prevent) my League Owners to Customize their home page? Answer: To allow league owners to have their own abilities to customize their home page go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Abilities Setup and check the boxes to allow owners to "Customize Home Page Appearance".
If you had previously allowed owners to customize their league home page, and now want to make sure that they see your league home page exactly as you see it, you can un-check all of the "Customize Home Page Appearance" checkboxes, and then they will be forced to see the same league home page that you see.

Participate in Fantasy Pool.
Check each of the above boxes to allow franchise owners the ability to perform the corresponding task. If your league has special requirements - for example, it you have a unique waiver system that the site cannot support - you should leave the Perform Waivers box unchecked so that franchise owners do not have the ability to do waivers on-line.
NOTE: Separate from the above settings, the commissioner may still be able to perform any of the above tasks on behalf of an owner (see Commissioner Abilities below for more information).
Commissioner Abilities
Commissioner Lockout - Select "Yes" to prevent commissioners from viewing pending owner-initiated transactions such as trade proposals, waiver requests, and blind bids and from using any For Owners screen (including the ability to change passwords and email addresses). Commissioners that manually process waivers will still be able to do so once the waiver window has closed. The League Settings
report (the Abilities Setup table) will always include a note when this option has been set
NOTE: To ensure the security of this option, every change to this setting will automatically send out an email to all franchises.
Reset Form - Click on this button to return the abilities to their original checked/unchecked state when you first entered this page. Selecting this button will NOT clear out all the abilities for all franchises.
When finished, you MUST click on the Save Franchise Abilities button in order to apply your changes.

18. | How do I use the Delete A Franchise page? Answer: IMPORTANT NOTE: USE OF THIS SCREEN IS ENTIRELY AT THE COMMISSIONER'S OWN RISK. DELETING A FRANCHISE IS A ONE-WAY OPERATION THAT CANNOT BE RESTORED (EVEN BY MYFANTASYLEAGUE.COM TECHNICAL SUPPORT).
This screen is used by commissioners to remove a franchise permanently from a league. This should only be done when a commissioner wants to reduce the number of franchises. For leagues that instead want to replace one or more owners, please go to the Franchise Setup screen to change the owner information.
To actually remove a franchise, *carefully* select it from the list, read the disclaimer, check the checkbox, and click on the Now! button. There are NO other warnings and the franchise will be immediately deleted upon clicking the Now! button. Only one franchise can be removed at a time so this operation may need to be repeated. Be sure to verify the list of teams (use the Franchise Setup screen or one of the reports screens) immediately upon deletion.
NOTE: You cannot delete a franchise that has traded future draft picks. You will first need to undo these traded picks on the Reports > League > Future Draft Picks. Once you have restored the picks for the franchise involved you will be able to remove them.
