First, review the questions below. And then if they don't help, you can submit a Support Ticket to us.Category: Draft# | Question |
1. | Why are the rookies not displaying for my Rookie draft? Answer: There are 2 possible causes:
1. On the For Commissioners > Setup > General Draft Timer Setup the option "Available Player Pool For This Draft:" does not include Rookies.
2. On the For Commissioners > Setup > Waivers/Free Agents Setup: Prevent Rookie Players from being acquired via Waivers: is set to Yes. This feature when enabled will also hide the rookies in the draft room. You will need to turn it off for your draft. Note that waivers will not run when a draft is in process.
3. Prior to the NFL Draft, all Rookies are Free Agents. Therefore you need to ensure that on the For Commissioners > Setup > Reports & Security Settings you enable the option to "Display NFL Free Agents on Fantasy Free Agent Lists?".

2. | We held an offline Draft, how can I re-create my Draft to add the players and show their draft picks on the site, or enter the picks as our draft is running? Answer: If you conducted an offline draft and wish to have your full draft report added to the site, as well as generate your rosters, you will need to set your league up for a Live Draft on the Setup > General League Setup.
Then, you will need to follow the instructions in the Tutorials Commissioner Tutorials to set up draft parameters. Specifically your start Date/Time for when you wish to enter your results and your Draft Order for your league.
Once you have set this up, as commissioner you can enter the For Owners > Live Draft Room (no need for the draft timer to be enabled) and enter each pick for each owner to generate this report and add the players to their respective rosters.

3. | How should I conduct my league's draft? Answer: While this is primarily up to your league's preference, based on the location of your owners, there are a few recommendations:
* If all owners are at different locations, and you want to draft all at once, use MFL's live draft.
* If all owners are at different locations, and you want to draft over several days/weeks, use MFL's email draft.
* If most owners are at one location, but a couple of owners are at a remote location, and you want to draft all at once, use MFL's live draft. Have the group of owners log in as the commish, and the remote owners log in as themselves. The person using the computer for the group of owners together can just change the franchise drop-down to specify which team he/she's drafting for.
* If all owners are in the same room and you do not have internet, then you can track your picks and later enter them using the Setup > Load/Unload Rosters or recreate the draft for your owners. See the following FAQ > for details.
Please also see our Commissioner Tutorials > How do I decide what draft is right for my league?
guide for more information.

4. | Can our Deluxe League run their Live Drafts simultaneously? Answer: Yes, if you are running a deluxe league you can conduct your drafts simultaneously. You will set each draft up according to the instructions in the Commissioner Tutorials > How do I prepare for my Live Draft?.
For a Deluxe League you will define each drafts Draft Start Date/Time. Then on the Draft Order Setup- All Rounds you will need to set these up for each conference/division.
NOTE: If you are conducting your drafts at the same time it is very important to make sure you have a Commissioner/co-commissioner assigned to each draft room. They will then have access to that draft rooms' commissioner controls which will allow them to pause the draft or undo picks if needed during the draft.

5. | How do I Create My Draft List & Draft Preferences? Answer: The My Draft List allows an owner to create his or her own customized master draft list which can either be used for an online MFL-hosted draft, or printed off to be used for an offline draft. It is primarily used as a guide to aid an owner in actively making his or her picks throughout the entire draft.
- To create your Draft List simply go to your For Owners > My Draft List.
- The left hand column is a list of all Available players based on your league settings. You are able to sort the players either via the Rank, ADP, Alphabetically, Bye Week, YTD Points or Salary.
- To add players to your list simply highlight the players name and click the button Add To List >. This will add the player to the right handed column, your Current My Draft List.
Alternately you can highlight a player from the right hand column and remove them from your Current My Draft List by choosing the "Remove From List" button in the event a player is mistakenly added.
- Once you have added your players to your Current My Draft List you may arrange them in order of importance to aid in your draft by using the Action buttons. Highlight the player you with to move and click either the Move Up or Move Down buttons to place them in their proper position.
- When finished, you MUST click on the Save My Draft List button in order to apply your changes.
If you conduct your draft on myfantasyleague.com, and rely on the system to pick your roster for you via either by the my draft list player list, Player Rank or the ADP you can have more control over what position is picked in what round of your draft.
Go to the For Owners > My Draft Preferences and select one or more positions to pick in each round of your draft. If the system does make a pick for that owner in that round of the draft, the system will first try to pick a player in the position that the owner has specified on this page. This will give the owner a lot more control over what positions are filled when, preventing things like selecting too many backup players in any one position.
NOTE: If you wish to use the entire ADP or FantasySharks Player Rankings you can go to the "IMPORT" and import the entire list. Then you can edit this list as needed for your My Draft List.

6. | How do I run a Test/Mock Draft for my League? Answer: If your league wishes to run a test draft to ensure that it is properly set up prior to your real live draft for your league you will need to do the following:
- Define your start time for your draft for your test draft on the Setup > Draft Start Date/Time.
- Set up the parameters for your draft per the instructions in the Help > Help Center - Commissioner Tutorials.
- Run your test draft for your league.
- When you have completed your rounds for your league (as many as necessary so that you are comfortable with your draft) you will need to go to the Setup > Revert Draft to clear your draft.
- Now, redefine the time of your draft for the actual start date/time on the Setup > Draft Start Date/Time.
- Finally, re-save your draft settings for your actual draft.

7. | Does MFL support Dispersal Drafts? Answer: No, there is not an option to easily set up a dispersal draft on MFL as all drafts would be for the entire league, not just for specific owners or players. You will want to conduct your draft offline or by using the Message Board.
Then the commissioner can enter the rosters for the teams on the Setup > Load Rosters to add players to the teams.

8. | How do I Pre-Draft? Answer: If your league is holding an on-line draft then you can use this feature to help pick your players prior to your turn and help speed along the draft. This is also useful if you are not able to draft for a future round. You can enter your pre-draft picks for that round and the system will choose the highest priority player.
Please note that Pre-draft picks are selected for you as soon as it is your turn to pick in the draft. To have a compiled list for your draft in which you, the owner, can make your own picks, but are not picked from immediately please use the My Draft List.
Also note that if you are not going to be drafting for majority of your rounds you will instead want to define the My Draft List and My Draft Preferences instead of creating pre-draft picks for each individual round of your draft. The pre-draft feature is designed for the upcoming pick or 2 to help speed up your draft, especially in an email draft situation.
Pre-Draft Picks – Round 1
- Go to the For Owners > Draft.
- From the Player To Add: list, highlight the player in which you would like to add to your Pre-draft List. You can filter players on this available fantasy free agent list by using the “Show Only” pull-down box to obtain a subset of the list (by position or NFL team).
- Click the Add To List> button.
- Continue steps 2. and 3. above for any pick you’d like to attempt in the round. Keep in mind, adding more players will increase your chances for getting a player in that round.
- Once players are added, highlight the individual players and use the Move Pick Up or Move Pick Down buttons to prioritize them in the order which you would like them drafted. You may also use the
- After prioritizing your list you MUST click the Save These Picks and Continue button save your picks for that round and receive confirmation.
Pre-Draft Picks – Round 2 (Subsequent Rounds)
Once Round 1 picks are saved successfully you will be ready to make picks for Round 2. Round 1 Saved picks will appear at the top of the Pre-Draft page.
- Optionally, you can choose the “Add All From Previous Round>>” button to add all players from Round 1 to your Round 2 Draft.
- Now repeat steps 2 through 6 from Pre-Draft Picks – Round 1 to add your picks for subsequent rounds.
Pre-Draft Future Rounds
In the event that you will not be available for future rounds of drafting during a live draft you have the option to Pre-draft those rounds.
- Go to For Owners > Draft.
- Choose at the round that you would like to make a pick for at the bottom of the Page from the drop down field listed next to the “Or, you may go immediately to:” XX Be sure to click the “Now!” button to move to that round of picks.
- Follow steps 2 through 6 in Pre-Draft Picks – Round 1.

9. | What's the difference between a pre-draft pick and the My Draft List? Answer: Pre-draft picks are made on a pick-by-pick basis and always get executed as soon as the franchise is on the clock. These are generally designed to make a pick or picks for an absent owner that has to be away from the draft for a round or more, but not for the entire draft. It also is used in an email draft to help speed up the draft if your pick is coming up, but you may be away.
The My Draft List feature, however, is a customized master draft list designed for the entire draft as a whole. Any picks made using this list are, by default made once a franchises time has expired (although this can be changed to make the pick as soon as a franchise gets on the clock). This list is primarily used as a guide to aid an owner in actively making his or her picks during the draft.
It can also be used in conjunction with the My Draft Preferences to automatically have the top player/position in specific rounds selected for your draft if you are unable to attend.

10. | How does the ADP Report (Average Draft Position) work and know which positions to fill for my Roster? Answer: This report is a detailed analysis of the average draft position (ADP) results that are based on drafts that have occurred this season on MyFantasyLeague.com. For full details and to view this report please see our ADP Analysis.
1. The ADP Report picks the highest ranked player at a given position based on your league's Starting Lineup Setup screen and Roster Position Limits screen. It gives preference to selecting starters and skill positions first, but will eventually fill your entire roster while conforming to your league rules.
If there are any holes in the current roster that prevents a franchise from submitting a complete starting lineup, then it will just select players from the list of those positions that the franchise needs. Otherwise, if a franchise can submit a complete starting lineup already, then it will look at all positions.
2. After the system figures out which positions to look at, then it will compare those positional needs to the current ADP results. Based on how many drafts are collated there, it will then determine a cutoff - the cutoff is the minimum number of drafts that a player has to be drafted in to be looked at (otherwise, he'll just be ignored). This prevents players that were drafted in only a few leagues, but happened to be drafted very high, from being assigned to a franchise. The cutoff starts out at 5% of the total number of drafts. For example, if there are currently 150 drafts in the ADP rankings, the system will only look at players who have been picked in 8 or more drafts.
3. The system then takes up to 4 passes over all ADP results in order to try to pick a player for you. In the first pass, it tries to fill a starting lineup need looking at only players that were drafted in the above cutoff number of drafts. If no players were found in the first pass, it halves the number of drafts for the cutoff, and looks again. If no players were found in the second pass, it halves the number of drafts for the cutoff again, and looks again. Finally, if no players were found in the third pass, it ignores the starting lineup needs, and looks for any player that was drafted in at least the lowest cutoff number of drafts, and looks again.
The most important take-home message from this long explanation is that ADP picks were originally designed for (and are still intended for) a "last-ditch, if all else fails, for some reason the owner (or someone else) messed up and didn't make his pick, so let me make what might be an appropriate pick" kind of situation, and definitely not a "make the same pick that a well-informed semi-expert, who understands all the nuances of my league rules, injuries, etc., to hopefully make the pick best pick possible" kind of situation. In other words, if you expect to have a perfect roster at the end of your draft, you need to be present for your draft, and not rely on the draft tracker to make picks for you. Some specific situations when the ADP has been known to not pick good, or even pick at all, for leagues, include:
- If your league drafts early in the off-season, it may not have accumulated enough information to pick for your league
- If your league uses relatively less used positions (Off, ST, TMQB, TMPK, PN, TMPN, and to a certain extent, IDP positions [DL/DT/LB/CB/S]).
- If your league has an extremely deep roster (say, 400 or more players on your fantasy rosters in total), it may not be able to pick players towards the end of the draft.

11. | How do the FantasySharks.com Player Rankings compare to the ADP rankings? Answer: These rankings can be used instead of Average Draft Position (ADP) rankings for guidance during your draft, or when generating your own draft list. These player rankings will provide better guidance than ADP for most leagues since the ADP rankings are an aggregate of ALL drafts on MyFantasyLeague.com, and there are hundreds of different league configurations which can lead to very different draft patterns depending on the type of league.
For example, the most common league is a 12-team redraft league with PPR scoring and only offensive players (QB, RB, WR, TE, PK, Def). If your league has more or less than 12-teams, or doesn't use PPR scoring, or uses more positions (or combines some positions such as RB+WR), then the ADP may not have enough similar leagues to generate meaningful values for your league. If that's the case, then an overall list of players like this one will provide more relevant and complete rankings for you to use as guidance.

12. | How do I allow the draft to automatically pick for owners? Answer: To enable the draft to automatically pick for your owners as soon as they are on the clock you can set this up in the For Commissioner >Setup > General Draft and Timer Setup. Here check the corresponding box for each franchise that you wish to have their pick made as soon as they are on the clock.
The picks will be chosen first from their My Draft List , then from the Player Rankings if no list is defined.

13. | How Can I test my League Draft prior to drafting? Answer: There are two options to test your live draft room and all of its functions prior to your actual draft date.
1. Go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Duplicate this League to create a copy of your current league. Here you can set up the Live Draft parameters and you and some/all of your owners can test out the various features of this room. For instructions on setting up the auction parameters see the Help > Help Center - Commissioner Tutorials.
2. In your current league set up the parameters for your Live Draft and set the For Commissioner > Setup > Draft Start Date/Time to when you wish to test your draft. Then you and some/all of your owners can access the For Owners > Live Draft room to practice the draft. When you are done simply go to the For Commissioner > Setup > Revert Draft to set your Round to 1, Pick to 1. Then resave all of the draft setup parameters for your real league draft.

14. | Why is the Live Draft Room missing for my Email Draft? Answer: Email drafts will not have a Live Draft Room as that is intended for drafts only lasting a matter of hours. You can however re-create your draft room right on the home page by either adding the modules below directly to your Main page or creating a tab titled "Draft" for your league.
If you go to the For Commissioner > Setup Home Page Modules & Tabs Setup you can add the following modules which pertain to your Draft.
DRAFT_STATUS - Draft Status
RECENT_DRAFT_PICKS - Recent Draft Picks
MY_DRAFT_PICKS - My Draft Picks
DRAFT_COUNTDOWN - Countdown To League Draft
DRAFT_TRACKER - ADP
LEAGUE_CHAT-League Chat
ROSTERS- Franchise Roster

15. | How do I Draft for my Taxi Players? Answer: To draft your taxi players you will need to temporarily increase your roster size in the For Commissioner > Setup > General League Setup screen to account for rosters and taxi spots.
- For Example:
- You have a 14 man roster with 2 Taxi Sqaud positions your total in the General League Setup would now be 16. Then you will need to define a 16 round draft.
- After the draft is complete owners can use the For Owners > Taxi Squad screen to demote the 2 players that will remain on the taxi squad. After all owners demote their players to the taxi squad you can go back to your General League Setup and reduce the rosters back to 14.

16. | Our league draft is being conducted during/after the 1st kickoff of the season. Can we still play week 1? Answer: Yes, you can still draft your players at any time, even after the season has kicked off.
On the Setup > Weekly Lineup Setup if you have the option selected for "Early" or "Gametime" as your lineup deadline then owners can submit their lineups for players whose games have not yet kicked off.
If an owner has a player whose game already kicked off, and you wish to allow them to be submitted for Week 1, as commissioner you can submit the lineup for them by going to the For Owners > Submit Lineup.

17. | How do I use the Draft page? Answer: This screen only appears if your league is defined to hold an online draft in the General League Setup. Once the order is defined and the draft has started, an owner may either draft a player (if it's his/her turn to draft) or define a pre-draft (if it's not his/her turn to draft).
Regularly Scheduled Selection
When it's a franchise's turn to draft, entering this menu item will present the owner with a list of all available fantasy free agents for the league. The owner may pick a single player from the list directly or use the 'Show Only' pull-down box to filter out a subset of the list (choosing either by position or by pro team). Alternately, if they created a My Draft List as a guide to the draft they will be able to view this updated list to make their draft picks.
In addition to making a selection, the franchise owner can also enter comments into the optional free-form text field. These comments will appear on the Draft
report.
Once a player has been selected, you MUST click on the Make Draft Pick button to actually make the pick.
Pre-Draft Selection
If instead it's not your turn to draft, you may still define your Pre-Draft picks. A pre-draft set of picks is used for one draft selection for a team. The franchise owner makes as many draft requests as possible for each pick and orders them as desired. When a team that has pre-drafted is due to make a selection, the system automatically makes the pick for the owner by drafting the highest ordered player in the owner's pre-draft list as soon as the owner is on the clock. In order to make a pre-draft request for a future round/pick, the owner must use the 'Go immediately to: Round xx' option.
NOTE: If you'd prefer to establish a personal draft list of players that you're interested in, without having the draft pick automatically made for you as soon as you get on the clock, please instead use the My Draft List
screen.
Show Only - Use this filter to restrict the available draft picks by position or team.
Select A Player - This is the listing of filtered players to choose from.
Add To List - Once a player has been selected, click on this button to add him to the team's pre-draft list.
Remove From List - Select this button to remove the currently highlighted pre-draft player from the list.
Move Pick Up - Click on this button to move the currently highlighted pre-draft request up one position in the request order.
Move Pick Down - Click on this button to move the currently highlighted pre-draft request down one position in the request order.
Save Round xx Picks And Continue - Once all the pre-draft requests have been defined and ordered for a given round/pick, click on this button to save them to the system and advance to the next round/pick. The screen will refresh with a summary of your pre-draft requests for the previous round/pick and then repeat so you can enter pre-draft requests for the current round/pick.
Live Draft Selection
This option only appears if the commissioner has enable 'Live Drafting' for this league. Use this selection if your league wants to draft in real time on the Internet. Live drafting gives you the ability to see each person's draft pick as it's made. In addition, teams can send comments to one another. Live drafting is best designed for leagues unable to get all their team owners together in a single physical location. Click Here
for more information on using a live draft.
Fantasysharks.com Draft Coach
This option only appears if the commissioner has enabled the option 'Show Links to Various Fantasysharks Tools' in the Reports & Other Settings
screen for this league. When enabled, this tool will intelligently suggest what players you might want to pick up next in your MyFantasyLeague.com hosted draft. More detailed information on this feature can be found at the Fantasysharks.com Draft Coach web page.

Once an owner has the My Draft List completed, click on the "View" link followed by the menu item "This Page > Printer Friendly Page" to format the list for a printer. Print out as usual.
Use With An Online Draft
Email (slow) Draft - The For Owners > Draft page (when it's that owner's turn to pick) will by default show the owner their own "My Draft List" player listing for them to make their draft pick from, but they may change back to the alphabetical player listing as needed.
Live (fast) Draft - The Live Draft
Chat room will by default show the owner their own "My Draft List" player listing for them to make their draft pick from, but they may change back to the alphabetical player listing as needed.
ADDITIONAL NOTES:
1. This feature does not in any way change how Pre-Draft picks are applied. In other words, pre-draft picks are still applied for an owner as soon as he's on the clock. If an owner would like picks to be applied only if his pick times out, he should use the "My Draft List" player listing.
2. Like the ADP logic, the "My Draft List" picks give highest priority to filling a starting lineup before trying to get bench players for a given franchise. In other words, if your league requires 2 starting RBs, and a franchise already has 2 RBs on it's roster, the system will look through the "My Draft List" player listing, looking for the first available non-RB on that list before selecting a player.

19. | How do I use the Draft Report page? Answer: To get a detailed summary of the draft status, select this option. This report will show what pick was made by what team at what time for each round of your draft, as well as whose turn it is to pick, if your draft is still underway. This option will only be available to leagues who conduct their draft on-line using MyFantasyLeague.com
program. Furthermore, the date/time stamp for each pick and the comments field will only contain data for leagues that drafted online.
There are two filters available for this report:
Position - Either use the default of any player or filter by a specific position.
Franchise - Either use the default of any franchises of filter by a specific franchise.
At the bottom of this report there is a table summarizing how long, on average, the draft was held up by each owner participating, so you know who to harass about taking too much time. These owners might be better off pre-drafting
more of their draft picks.
Full Format - This default view displays the draft on a sequential pick-by-pick basis.
Grid Format - This alternate view offer a quick and easy way to see each franchises' picks by round.
Steals and Busts (BETA) - This report analyzes your draft and states if the picks are "Steals" or "Busts" for the season.
Draft Recap - This report analyzes each franchises draft picks overall.
Archived Draft - For leagues that run multiple drafts in preseason, this will display your original draft report.
